Character Name/Alias: Wanda Maximoff / The Scarlet Witch
Character age: early 30s
Canon: MCU
Canon point: post-WandaVision

History: A handy wiki link
Appearance: In her Scarlet Witch attire and her civilian clothes
Personality: Wanda has always been someone who toes the line between villain and hero, not necessarily because she’s a bad person but because she has suffered a lot and doesn’t always deal with it well. Ultimately, she wants to be good. She is willing to help people and she does have a moral compass, though it is dictated more by her own feelings and experiences than laws or society at large. She is capable of being very loving and nurturing, and she has a dry, sometimes playful sense of humor when she lets herself relax and show it.

Where the problem comes in is…trauma. Her life has been almost entirely driven by love and loss. She loves deeply and is fiercely loyal to those she cares about. But when she loses the people she loves (which she does, unfortunately, with great frequency) she can also lose her way. The death of her parents led to her being radicalized by Hydra. Losing Vision not once, but twice, in the span of moments led to her having a mental health crisis that ended in an entire town being held hostage. She is clearly prone to anger, resentment and depression.

The one time she did navigate her grief well was when she had the support of the Avengers and Vision in the aftermath of the death of her brother, Pietro. They gave her something relatively positive to focus her energy on, which was good for her, though it did ultimately come with a down side. Messing up on a mission with the Avengers did lead to society at large fearing her and others like her. She felt a lot of guilt about this, but again had people to help her through it.

Without people around her to keep her grounded she is prone to getting very stuck in her feelings. She will bury herself in denial and escapism. She is capable of self-reflection but often needs someone to hold up some kind of metaphorical mirror so she can see it. Once she’s made self-aware she is very willing to admit fault and accept defeat and its consequences. She didn’t blame the people of Westview at all for holding her in contempt in the aftermath of her hex, for example.

Wanda is really someone who needs connection and craves normalcy. Unfortunately those are the very things that keep getting snatched away from her, this can lead to her struggling with her mental health and honestly just doing a lot of backsliding even when she’s aware that she’s messed up. She is a woman with a lot of trauma and some very human failings, who has also had a whole lot of power bestowed upon her. That power also happens to be fueled and amplified by strong emotions. She is almost always at her strongest when she is hurting somehow, and that can lead her down some very dark paths.

What did they do to end up here?: as of the canon point I’m pulling her from:
- Joined and aided terrorist organization HYDRA
- Aided Ultron, which led for the destruction of Sokovia
- Destroyed a building in Lagos that led to the death of multiple civilians and relief aid workers
- Defied the Sokovia accords by helping Captain America
- Broke out of prison and went on the run, evading authorities for years
- Illeagally entered and then attacked and vandalized SWORD headquarters
- Held an entire town captive in a pocket dimension

Powers / Abilities:
Between her chaos magic and her exposure to the Mind Stone, Wanda has a truly absurd amount of psionic abilities, so I’m going to do my best to sum them up:

Telepathy: She is capable of getting into someone’s mind, detecting their thoughts, as well as influencing and manipulating their feelings, perceptions, and actions.
Telekinesis: She can move things with her mind, including things much larger than herself, such as cars. She can also use this to break things and take them apart.
Levitation/Flight: Somewhat related to her telekinesis she can use her energy to levitate and take flight. She is also shown to be capable of taking at least one other person with her when doing this.
Teleportation: She can move herself or someone else instantly from one place to another. Though thus far we have only seen her do this for very short distances.
Force field creation: She can use her energy to create a shield to protect herself and/or others from damage. She can even use it to contain explosions.
Energy blasts: What it says on the tin, she can blast her opponents with her energy and do quite a bit of damage.
Reality Warping: She is capable of creating pocket dimensions that warp reality into whatever she desires. Within these hexes she has total control of how things look and feel. She can even control the passage of time and the weather.
Transmutation: She is able to change things, sometimes all the way down to a molecular level, into whatever she wants. For example, in WandaVision we see her use this trick on
clothing and the interior of her house a lot, changing her clothes from the styles of the 50s to the 60s, etc.
Conjuring: She can conjure things, literally out of thin air. She conjures a whole house in WandaVision, as well as her husband, her wedding rings and many other odds and ends.
Spell Casting: She is capable of casting spells, though she is relatively new to doing this consciously. She first demonstrated this ability as a child when she used a hex to stop a bomb from exploding in her apartment, thus keeping her and her brother alive.
Astral Projection: She can project an astral form of herself while also maintaining a conscious physical form.
Energy absorption: She is able to absorb the energy and powers of other magic users.

Okay, so it is obvious Wanda is ridiculously overpowered, but there are a few ways I can deal with this.

1.) Just generally as a player I tend to assume the setting of a game is more powerful than my character no matter what they can do in canon. So I am perfectly willing to assume that Reparacija is just stronger than Wanda and trumps her abilities. Honestly, even in canon Wanda’s abilities are only as strong as the plot needs them to be so just saying that she can’t access her full power level in the game setting because the plot says so is pretty valid.
2.) At the point I’m taking her from she has become more aware of what she can do but she doesn’t have all the knowledge to control it yet, so I can say she just doesn’t have enough knowledge to do some of these things consistently (i.e spell casting and astral projection are just not things she has a lot of experience with yet. At least not consciously.)
3.) I am very open to have attempts at magic backfire or misfire somehow, maybe leading to ridiculous or comical consequences because I live by the rule of funny.

Inventory:
- The clothes on her back
- The Darkhold, assuming she’s allowed to keep it. This is an extremely powerful book of dark magic that has a deeply corrupting influence on people. I’m not sure it would actually be allowed in game, but theoretically she has it with her at the time she’s brought in.
